Day 6

Okay, it's Day 6 of my personal...journey (that word makes me gag a little, but I do secretly love the band). Today, it feels like a futile, pointless, dumb idea. But let's take stock, shall we?

Progress

*I have worked out exactly twice since I last posted (crappy effort but twice is better than NONE)

*I spent an ENTIRE afternoon staining and waterproofing the naked bench that has been parked in my dining room. A note to Julian (my overfed and misunderstood black cat): Sorry Juju. I know you enjoyed using it as a quiet place to sleep, a perch to watch birds and squirrels, and a fort in which you would crouch down and swat people as they walked by. The time has come for our family to stop this road to Sanford and Son living and remove displaced furniture from the home. You'll need to reclaim your spot on and under Ava's bed. Also, please stop smacking Ava as she walks by. She claims it hurts "really so bad". I know you don't have claws but I think we're talking more of an "emotional" bitchslap kind of hurt.

*I went to one of those places where you prepare meals that can be frozen and served to your family. It's like you spent all day in the kitchen, except you didn't. You spent 90 minutes in a Mexican restaurant getting liquored up on mango margaritas and then 30 minutes preparing the meals with a nice buzz and taking direction from the oddest group of employees ever (true story).

*I remembered to water my flowers BEFORE the leaves turned brown and fell off.

Steps backwards

*The house. The laundry. The dishes. The grocery shopping. Will someone please come over and do this for me already?????

*The mango margaritas. Okay, I don't really regret them. That little outing, however, meant that the 1500 other errands that I really needed to run (and actually had the whole day to myself to do them) never were done because...well...I needed a nap.

*The lack of blogging. I realize that no one (except for the mystery Columbus and Delaware people that are left so uninspired that they have NOTHING to leave in a comment) is reading this. HOWEVER, it's still good for me to write in it and it's still beneficial to actually track my progress. It's not surprising that four or five days of slack have coincided with no posts.

Time to lay the smackdown on the Wii marathon that is going on as I type. My children have now created about 75 Miis and they are all named after teen Nick or Disney characters. Which reminds me: One more step backward: I caught myself singing the iCarly theme song to myself when I was walking this morning.

Please send help.

Buddy I love your motivation. At least there were some steps in the right direction.

Baby steps. Baby steps. Baby steps.

I love your mission and your progress. You can be my motivation. After months of having the same goals I find myself in the same place. Maybe you can inspire me.
